Jailbreak iOS 5 beta 5 using Sn0wbreeze for Windows

iH8sn0w released Sn0wbreeze 2.8 to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 5 on iPhone 4, 3GS, iPod Touch and iPad. The main difference between this and redsn0w is that this allows you to cook custom firmware, thus preserving baseband which helps in iPhone unlock. Also, you can install packages and change boot screen logo

* Now supports iOS 5 beta 5 (9A5228d).
* Added Hacktivation ability.
* Added option to remove UDID developer check/Beta Timer.
* Finally decided to fix Baseband preservation standalone mode.

Note: This version does not support Ultrasn0w. So you will not be able to unlock on this firmware.

Here is a step by step guide:

  1. Download Sn0wbreeze: Download
  2. Get iOS 5 beta 5 firmware
  3. Open Snowbreeze and click Next
  4. Browse to iOS 5 beta 5 ipsw downloaded in step 2
  5. Once ipsw in recognized, click advanced mode. Click all the options needed and click next
  6. Sn0wbreeze will now create a custom firmware. This may take a while. Once done, restore your iPhone using iTunes to this custom firmware.
Thats it. Now you have an iDevice jailbroken on iOS 5 beta 5. Enjoy
