Apple today launched the much awaited tablet at its event. The tablet is named iPad . The pricing starts at $499.
As expected, iPad has all the features on iPhone- You can watch videos, music, internet browsing and all the other stuff. It’s powered by a 1GHz Apple A4 chip, and has 16GB to 64GB of flash storage. It weighs 1.5 pounds and features 9.7-inch IPS display. It boasts 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, compass and 10 hours of battery life.
iPad can run all the iPhone and iPod apps, without any modification. Apple will highlight apps that are created explicitly for the iPad in the store as well.
iPad also has a Book app called iBooks. And with the new iBooks store, you can buy the books. You can flip the page by tapping anywhere on the right, change the size, or flip back by tapping on the left. Or, drag the page over manually using touch.
There is a new version iWork also, which makes office work a breeze on iPad.
There is a data plan for iPad 3G models too- $15 for 250 MB or $30 for unlimited access. It is again with AT&T, but no contracts this time. It is prepaid and can be cancelled any time. And, AT&T will let you use the Wi-Fi hotspots for free. The iPad 3G models are unlocked, but will use GSM micro SIMs.
The iPad is priced $499 for 16 GB non-3G models. The image below explains the pricing structure well
