A team of electrical and computer engineering students at Calvin College is designing a digital electronic stethoscope running uClinux as its operating system, which is very rare, but what makes this whole idea more interesting is that the docs will have to connect the instrument to a computer via USB to transfer the audio files.
The device will be designed to record and store high-quality audio data from a patient’s body, act as a noise cancelling device and reduce the ambient noise which doctor hears.
