THIS SIMPLE CONCEPT HAS POWER TO CHALLENGE WIKIPEDIA SOMEDAY
Web2.0 thrives on the very fact that it has made online world more interactive and more useful for all kinds of people through social networking and user-generated content, worldwide. And, if you are still in doubt then checkout Scriptovia .
Scriptovia is a new conceit of social networking and online resource sharing among students. If you are student or even an academician, then this is the site to join in. Once you sign up and create profile at Scriptovia, you can upload assignments, study resources or other academic submissions on this site. These submissions are then available for comments, discussions from other members or even getting inspired for your own work.
Who’s idea is it, anyway?
The person behind all this is Aseem Badshah, an undergraduate student at University of Washington studying Business Administration. Badshah, right now in his freshman year, has already a designation of “President of Scriptovia” under his belt. His site was inspired by his previous idea thinkessay.com. His introduction at his site say,
How did we get to know about it?
Well, we all at Technonix panel are technology hunters. We are always in search of something exciting and wonderful for reporting. So, this holiday morning we came to know about this site through newspaper and quickly bolted towards net to get first hand experience of it. read more..

What did we experience?
The site has a simple and smooth interface without any whistles or bells, and navigation is very good. The home page displays week’s most popular documents and at the bottom of it “featured members” are displayed. On the right, there are document categories:
Business
Mathematics
SCIENCE
SOCIAL STUDIES
SAT preparation
literature
others.
For now there are not many resources available but as the site grows we can expect more interesting things. We were not very impressed with the computer science section as because it didn’t have anything other than programming and that too was not having any content (looks like we’ll have join to upload content on it).
what you can do after signing up?
All the regular features comprises of usual stuff we’ve seen on other social networking sites. The main emphasis is on uploading and sharing academic documents. Your work is commented and rated by other members. You can promote your work and win an award for it. The portal has a marking system where points by fellow contributors can make your projects best essay, best researched project etc. The sites also has antiplagiarism checks in place to discourage students from copying. So, don’t fret and move on, show-off your knowledge and learn more.
Our Take:
Things we liked:
The whole idea is very much likeable. We loved awarding/marking system for work and also promotion feature as well.
Things we didn’t like:
There is not much freedom when it comes to customization, like, we coudn’t see why we cannot create special groups of our own like a group which could discuss latest happening of ITER or something like a COMMON MISTAKES group that would let students discuss thing like common problems of a SAT ASPIRANTS or for creative writing. There can more offerings like if groups like GRE/GMAT aspirants or for indian backdrop GATE/CAT aspirants. Moreover, there could be more done in diection of discussions. we also faced a problem when we tried upload a paper. this message popped three times in a row, when we tried out:

But we won’t blame it because the portal is still in its beta stage. We’ll try to upload again, anyway.
