iPhone Dev Team finally released Ultrasnow (ultrasn0w) , a tool which can be used to unlock and jailbreak iPhone 3G 3.0. The method is simple and as usual we have a step by step guide for that:
- Jailbreak your iPhone 3G 3.0 using PwnageTool or redsnow(redsn0w). You may use the step by step guides for redsn0w unlocking and PwangeTool Unlocking.
- Run Cydia or Icy installed on your iPhone.
- Add repo repo666.ultrasn0w.com to Cydia or icy.
- Search for 'ultrasn0w' and install it.
- If you are a TMobile user, then disable 3G first.
- Reboot your iPhone 3G.
Enjoy your unlocked iPhone 3G

iPhone dev team recently released redsnow (redsn0w), a new tool that can easily jailbreak and unlock iPhone 2G and iPod Touch 1G and 2G. Here we present the step by step guide to unlock and jailbreak iPhone 2G.
Note: If your iPhone is getting hanged at reboot, then you have not upgraded using iTunes first. This is very important. You have to first upgrade using iTunes and then use redsnow (redsn0w). Follow this guide and you'll certainly be able to jailbreak and unlock your iPhone. No more "iPhone getting hanged at reboot problem".
- Download iPhone 2G 3.0 firmware using direct download links posted at technonix.
- Download redsnow (redsn0w) using direct download links posted at technonix.
- Download 3.9 and 4.6 baseband bootloader files here. Extract the archive. Use winrar if you can't extract rar files.
- Open iTunes 8.2. It'll detect your iPhone.
- Press Shift and Click Restore.
- Browse for the ipsw file downloaded in step 1. iTunes will upgrade your iPhone software to 3.0.
- At this point, iPhone would be locked and will display a "Slide for Emergency" message. Don't worry, We'll be unlocking it soon.
- Open redsnow (redsn0w). Browse for the firmware file downloaded at step 1. It'll take some time and check the file. Click Next.
- There will be a popup saying "Preparing Ramdisk". It'll finish after sometime and next screen will follow.
- Select the check box saying Cydia. If you want to unlock as well, then check Unlock too.
- If you selected to unlock, you'll be asked to provide 3.6 and 4.9 bootloader files. Browse for the files we downloaded at step 3.
- Turn Off your iPhone and plug it into your computer. If it was already plugged in, then simply turn it off.
- Redsnow (redsn0w) will guide you to put the iPhone in DFU mode. Do exactly as shown.
- Redsnow (redsn0w) will unlock and jailbreak your phone. Let it do its work. Your iPhone will be rebooted and will continue with jailbreak. Do not attempt to turn off the device at this time.
Congratulations. You now have a fully functional iPhone 3.0 jailbreaked and unlocked using redsnow (redsn0w).

Dev Team recently released redsnow (redsn0w) that can unlock iPod Touch 2G, iPod Touch 1G and iPhone 2G. We already have direct download links to redsnow (redsn0w).
Here we have a step by step guide to jailbreak iPod Touch 2G and 1G 3.0 using redsnow (redsn0w):
- Download iPod Touch 1G or 2G firmware using direct download links posted at technoNix
- Download redsnow (redsn0w) using direct links posted at technoNix
- Open up iTunes 8.2. It'll detect your iPod Touch.
- Press Shift and click restore.
- Browse for the ipsw file you downloaded in step 1. iTunes will restore the iPod Touch to 3.0.Let it do its work. It may take some time.
- Open redsnow (redsn0w). Browse for the ipsw file you downloaded in step1. It'll verify the file. Click next.
- Check Cydia and click next.
- Plug you iPod Touch into computer and Turn it off. If it was already connected, then simply turn it off.
- redsnow (redsn0w) will now guide you to put your iPod Touch in DFU mode. Do exactly as shown.
- Once done, it'll start the jailbraking process. Relax and let it do its work. Do not interrupt or attempt to turn off the device. The jailbreak will complete in few minutes.
Congratulations, You have succesfully jailbreaked your iPod Touch using redsnow (redsn0w).

iPhone Dev Team is pretty quick in launching the unlocking tools. They just released redsnow (or redsn0w), a jailbreaking tool which can be used to unlock and jailbreak iPhone 2G 3.0 and can perform jailbreak and unlock operations on iPod Touch first and second generations.
Redsnow can be used to jailbreak and unlock multiple devices. Also, it is released for windows too.This means windows users can finally unlock and jailbreak their iPhone 2G 3.0.
Here are the official words from Dev Team:
If you want to build custom firmware files with more flexibility it is suggested that you use ‘PwnageTool’ on Mac OS X. - GOLDEN RULE: If you are using a 3G iPhone with yellowsn0w and rely on yellowsn0w to obtain cellular service, then you should NOT use redsn0w right now. Ultrasn0w (the 3G carrier unlock) is not included with this release and therefore your baseband will be locked and unable to use an operator other than the official one it was bought for. UltraSn0w will be released via APT (cydia and icy) soon. If you have an original iPhone (1st generation) then 3.0 carrier unlock works with this redsn0w release.
- Yellowsn0w in its current form will NOT work with the baseband version that is present in the 3.0 update, you will need Ultrasn0w, which will be released sometime soon, Ultrasn0w will work with all iPhone 3G models (but not 3GS), even ones that were previously unlockable, Ultrasn0w (when available) will be released via APT (this means you will be able to get it via Cydia or Icy).
- Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
- Read items 1, 2 and 3 again and again.
- At the bottom of this post are the bittorrent files for the latest version of redsn0w.
- This app is suitable for the recent 3.0 release
- redsn0w will NOT work for the iPhone 3GS.
- redsn0w WILL work for Original iPhone (1st Generation), Original iPod touch, iPod touch 2G and the iPhone 3G (not the iPhone 3GS).

Microsoft will be releasing a free Anti-Virus\Anti-Spyware tool which was codenamed "Morro" and will go by the name, Microsoft Security Essentials.
The Antivirus (codenamed 'Morro' after a beach in sao paulo, brazil) is being tested by Microsoft employees and possibly, its trail version will be available in september. Microsoft has officially stated that 'Microsoft Security Essentials' would be available by the end of 2009 at the latest. Security essentials is likely to be targeted as a basic form of Anti-Virus and not as a "suite" like rival Anti-Virus companies such as Symantec and McAfee offer.
